[Social Networking] More Twitter Applications: TweetDeck, Tweetie

Several months ago (right before I dropped off the face of this blog…) I blogged about a few Twitter applications - Twhirl, Twitterific, Twittelator. Since then, I’ve changed my mind. I’m now using two totally different aps. Both on my PC and on my iPod Touch iPhone.

Lindsay Lohan, World of Warcraft, etc

ImageRandom links of random interest:

  • I’ve been following the whole Lindsay Lohan being booted off the set of Ugly Betty closely because I like Lindsay Lohan and Ugly Betty and Lindsay Lohan on Ugly Betty, so I was happy to read this post on People saying that the whole dispute rumor was silly. Might be more B.S. but I want to remain optimistic.

[Social Networking] Twitter Applications

ImageI only very recently got into Twitter. I’d had Twitter for a while, but only in the past few days have I really decided to dive in and enjoy.

I’m terrible at keeping up with browser-based applications. I hate web-based mail, and web-based RSS readers (though I readily admit that also recently I’ve become totally addicted to Google Reader…) I fail at things like MySpace and Facebook because I simply forget to go. My trick with Google Reader is basically to leave the tab always open. But I don’t want to keep open an additional 902842 tabs just for all the social networks.

So the first thing I did upon joining the Twitter world was go in search of an application that would keep me from having to go to the actual website (cause I hate it).

I’m certain there’s various Twitter apps, but here’s what I use:

Great Music: Jacqueline Stem, Rose Gerber, The Haunted Windchimes

ImageI’ve not managed to sleep a wink all night, but I’m kinda thankful because otherwise I wouldn’t have gone on my iPod Touch to putz around. I ended up in the iTunes app store (another obsession…) and I installed this application called OurStage, created by OurStage.com. I love discovering new music, particularly independent music, so I fired up this app and headed straight for the folk genre section. I wouldn’t say this is my favorite genre of music, only I think it is.

Anyhoo, thanks to OurStage, I have discovered the following artists/songs:

  • “Comfortable” - Rose Gerber
  • “Finally” - TreeUnion
  • “What They Say About Love” - Kristina Blanchflower
  • “Leaving Here” - The Haunted Windchimes
  • “Up to You” - Cobalt & the Hired Guns

And I also discovered my favorite song of the moment:

  • “Stream of Consciousness” - Jacqueline Stem

I’m so in love with it that I ran off to purchase the whole CD and added the song to my MySpace profile.
